When you finish, Voyager has only the access you chose to give it. This is step 4 of 5, Permissions. Everything on it is optional.
Before you start
  • Nothing here is required to make videos. You can change every choice later in Settings.
  • Screen access appears only on a Mac. On Windows and Linux this step shows just the two privacy switches.
  • Voyager never asks macOS for access on this step unless you click Open Settings.
The step titled Optional Permissions, with the line You can change these anytime in Settings. A Screen access section lists Accessibility, with an Open Settings button, and Screen & System Audio Recording, marked with a green check. A Troubleshooting section has two switches, both on: Share usage statistics, with a See what's collected link, and Let the agent report problems to the Voyager team. The step titled Optional Permissions, with the line You can change these anytime in Settings. Screen access (Mac only)

Two macOS permissions let the agent work in your other apps during computer control, when it clicks, types and looks at your screen the way you would: Skip these if you don’t plan to use computer control. Voyager asks again when a feature needs them, and making a screen recording asks for its own access when you start one.
1

Allow Accessibility

Next to Accessibility, click Open Settings. macOS opens System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility, and a small Voyager panel appears that says ↑ Drag Voyager into the list above. If Voyager is already in the list, turn it on. If it isn’t, drag the Voyager icon from the panel into the list, then turn it on. macOS may ask for your password.

Voyager's helper panel. Drag the icon into the list in System Settings.

2

Allow Screen & System Audio Recording

Back in Voyager, next to Screen & System Audio Recording, click Open Settings and do the same: turn Voyager on, or drag it in from the helper panel.
macOS only applies Screen Recording after Voyager restarts. When macOS offers Quit & Reopen, choose it, or quit Voyager yourself and open it again. Your setup is already saved, so nothing is lost.
3

Check both rows say Allowed

When you come back to Voyager, each row you granted shows Allowed with a green check. Voyager checks every couple of seconds, so you don’t need to refresh.
You can grant or remove these at any time in Settings → Permissions, which also covers the camera, microphone, automation and file access Voyager may ask for later.

Privacy switches (every computer)

The Troubleshooting section has two switches. Both start on, and each choice saves as soon as you flip it.

Share usage statistics

Feature usage, performance, error codes and crash reports, to help improve Voyager.
Click See what’s collected for the details: app version and operating system, which kinds of provider and integration you use, how long operations take and whether they succeed, and error codes with personal details removed. Your conversations, files, recordings, prompts and API keys aren’t included.

Let the agent report problems to the Voyager team

If Voyager keeps failing, the agent may send the team a short note with the thread ID, model, app version and recent errors. Each note shows in the conversation.
So you’ll always see when a note was sent, and what it said. Turn this off if you’d rather report problems yourself with Get help… (see Get help). Change either choice later in Settings → Privacy, where they appear as checkboxes: Share usage statistics and, under Feedback, Let the agent report problems with Voyager. Privacy explains what Voyager keeps on your computer and what it sends.

Finish the step

Click Continue to move on to Brand.

Check it worked

  • The setup bar shows a check next to Permissions.
  • On a Mac, any permission you granted shows Allowed here and in Settings → Permissions.
  • Settings → Privacy shows both checkboxes as you left them.

If something went wrong

Open System Settings, go to Privacy & Security, then Accessibility or Screen & System Audio Recording, and turn on Voyager there.
Quit Voyager completely (choose Quit Voyager from the Voyager menu, or hold ⌘ Q) and open it again. macOS only applies this permission after a restart.
Click the + button under the list, choose Voyager in your Applications folder, and turn it on. Make sure it’s the copy of Voyager in Applications, not one still on the installer disk image.
