Your Voyager account signs you into the app; your agent account supplies the AI that works with you in chat. Chat uses your own Claude or ChatGPT (signed in with a subscription or an API key), Voyager models on a Voyager plan, or an Anthropic or OpenAI API key you add in Voyager. For example, you can sign in to Voyager, use your Claude subscription for chat, and generate images with your own FAL key. Each connection has its own purpose and billing.
A paid Voyager plan is optional. A free Voyager account plus your own Claude or ChatGPT is enough to finish setup and chat. Your own media keys generate media without a plan.

Know which account does what

Your Claude or ChatGPT covers agent usage under that provider’s terms. It does not supply Voyager credits or pay for media generation.

Manage your connections

Open Settings → Accounts. The Voyager card shows your sign-in, workspace, and available billing information. Generation providers controls media generation. The agent accounts below it control chat.
The Settings → Accounts page. The Voyager card shows Ready, the signed-in email and workspace, the plan line with available Voyager credits and an Open billing button, and a chat line with an Upgrade for more models button. Below it, the Generation providers list starts with Higgsfield, FAL, Google, ElevenLabs and Voyager credits, each with an on/off switch and up and down arrows. The Settings → Accounts page. Use Accounts to check your Voyager connection and find your generation providers.

If your Voyager account belongs to several workspaces, choose the workspace you intend to use. Check the workspace name before buying credits or starting paid work. For a new connection, follow Connect Claude, Connect ChatGPT, or Voyager models and media. To add another ChatGPT account, or to use a Codex install you already have, click the + button (Add provider) at the top of the agent accounts. In the Add provider instance dialog, keep the Codex driver selected and choose Continue with ChatGPT or Use my Codex CLI. A ChatGPT account connected through Voyager has its own sign-in.

You can add separate personal and work accounts and select them in the model picker. To chat with your own Anthropic or OpenAI API key, open Settings → Accounts and expand Use your own API keys in the Voyager card. Paste the key under Anthropic · chat or OpenAI · chat, then choose Save key. The key’s models appear under API models; select that account and a model in the chat’s model picker.
Requests through your own API key are billed per use by that provider, separately from any Claude or ChatGPT subscription.
To connect your own media keys, follow Generation providers.

Choose the agent for a chat

Open the model picker beside the chat composer. Choose the account, then the model you want to use.

Choose the account as well as the model so you know which subscription or balance you are using.

Setup chooses a ready Claude account first, then ChatGPT, then Voyager models. You can change the choice. Set the default for new chats in Settings → General → Conversations → Model; individual projects can override it. When you switch to a different provider in an existing chat, the picker says Continues in a new thread. Voyager continues in a new chat.

Understand the limits

Available models depend on the connected account, its plan, and its installed software. Show advanced model choices in Settings → Accounts reveals the full model list and reasoning effort controls. With it off, Voyager shows a smaller selection and uses medium effort. A plan badge on a Voyager model means that model needs a different Voyager plan. Choosing it opens billing; it does not unlock the model automatically. The sidebar’s Usage page shows Claude and Codex usage. Check Voyager credits in Settings → Accounts or billing. If a model is missing or an account stops working, see Setup problems.
