# Make browser games

> Play games made with Voyager on the dashboard's Games tab, then describe your own in the desktop app and publish it to a voyager.site link anyone can play.

Voyager's agent can build a small game you play in a web browser, playtest it, and publish it to a link anyone can open. The **Games** tab on [voyager.so/dashboard](https://voyager.so/dashboard/games) shows games made this way. Building happens in the desktop app.

> [!NOTE]
>
> **Before you start**
>
> * **The Voyager desktop app**, set up with an agent. See [Choose your setup](https://docs.voyager.so/get-started/choose-your-setup.md).
> * **Cost:** games work on Voyager Free. Making a game needs no paid generation, though images, music or sounds you ask Voyager to generate for it use credits as usual. Free keeps a small number of games published at a time; paid plans keep more. See [Voyager pricing](https://voyager.so/pricing).

## Browse the Games tab

The Games tab doesn't make anything itself. Everything on it plays a published game or opens the desktop app:

* **One-shot games**: simple games, each made from a single request. Choose **Play** to play it, or **Remix in app** to start a game like it in the desktop app.
* **Beyond one-shots**: longer, directed work in game engines such as Unreal Engine and Godot, with **Read how** links.
* **Start from a game technique**: step-by-step techniques you can read or open in the app.

## Make and publish your own

**1. Describe the game**

In a new chat in the desktop app, describe the game, its controls and how a round ends. You can also attach a drawing or a sprite to start from. **Open in app** on the Games tab starts this chat for you.

**2. Let the agent build and playtest it**

Voyager builds the game and plays full rounds with real input to check it works. Try it in the preview and ask for changes.

**3. Ask Voyager to publish it**

Say "publish this game". Voyager shows what will be uploaded and asks you to confirm, because **every file in the game becomes public**. Ask for a thumbnail too if you plan to post the link on X.

## Check it worked

Voyager gives you a link like `https://moon-hop-a2b3c4.voyager.site`. Open it in any browser, or send it to someone. The link stays the same when you publish updates.

To change a published game, ask Voyager to update it. To take it down, ask Voyager to unpublish it.

## If something went wrong

> [accordion] Publishing asks me to sign in
>
> Publishing uses your Voyager account. Sign in in the browser window that opens, then ask Voyager to publish again.

> [accordion] I can't publish another game
>
> Your plan has reached the number of games it keeps published. Unpublish one you no longer need, or see [Voyager pricing](https://voyager.so/pricing) for plans that keep more.

> [accordion] A link posted on X shows a plain card, not the game
>
> The game has no thumbnail. Ask Voyager to add a square poster and publish an update; X then shows a playable card.
