# Choose your first project

> The last setup step: tell Voyager what you're making first, and your first chat opens with a prompt ready to send.

When you finish, setup closes and your first chat opens with a prompt for what you want to make, ready for you to edit and send. This is the **Create** step, the last one. It's optional.

> **Before you start**
>
> * Nothing is needed. Your answer only writes the first prompt; you can make anything later.
> * Sending the prompt starts real work. If it generates images, video or audio, that's billed as usual by your own media services or your Voyager credits, and the agent tells you what a paid step will cost first. See [Approvals and spending](https://docs.voyager.so/guides/approvals-and-spending.md).

## Pick what you're making

**1. Choose one**

The step asks **What are you making first?**: "We'll write your first prompt for it. Pick one, you can make anything later." Pick one card:

| Card | For |
| - | - |
| **A product or explainer video** | Launches, demos, how-tos |
| **An edit of my own footage** | Cut and caption your clips |
| **AI-generated video** | Scenes made from a prompt |
| **Something else** | Ads, social, design, audio |

**2. Click Continue**

Click **Continue**. The button reads **Opening…** while Voyager finishes setup.

A new chat opens with a starter prompt in the message box, for example "Cut my footage into a 60-second highlight video with music and captions." for **An edit of my own footage**. Edit it to fit what you want, attach any files, then send it.

If you chose to start from your website on the [Brand step](https://docs.voyager.so/setup/brand.md), the chat opens in the project Voyager made for your site, so it uses your brand.

Not ready to choose? Click **I'll start later**. Setup closes and a new chat opens with an empty message box.

## Check it worked

* Setup is closed and won't appear again.
* A new chat is open. If you picked a card, its prompt is waiting in the message box.

## If something went wrong

> Click **Continue** again. If it keeps failing, click **I'll start later** and type your own first request.
