# Try a model in the playground

> Run an image, video, voice, music, sound effect or 3D model directly, without a chat, and save the results to a project.

The playground lets you run one model yourself: type a prompt, set its options, click **Run** and see the result. Use it to compare models, try a prompt before you use it in a chat, or make a single image or sound quickly.

> [!NOTE]
>
> **Before you start:** each run costs the same as the same generation in a chat. The price shows next to **Run** before you start: Voyager credits, **Included in your plan**, or **Free on this computer** for a model that runs locally. A model that needs a provider you haven't connected says so and links to the setup. See [Plans and credits](https://docs.voyager.so/account/plans-and-credits.md) and [voyager.so/pricing](https://voyager.so/pricing).

## Run a model

**1. Open a model**

Click **Apps & Models** in the sidebar and open the **Models** tab. Click **Open playground**, or click **Try** on an image, video, voice, music, sound effect or 3D model. The model's page opens on **Playground**.

**2. Choose where results go**

Under **Save to**, pick a project, or **New project**. If you don't save to a project, unsaved runs are kept for 7 days.

**3. Write a prompt and set options**

Type your prompt, or click one of the example prompts under **Try**. Some models have a **Mode**, such as text-to-video or image-to-video, and take an image, video or audio file as input. **More settings** holds the rest.

**4. Run it**

Check the price and time next to the button, then click **Run**. You can leave the page: the run keeps going and shows in **Activity**.

## Use the result

When the run finishes, the result plays or shows on the page. You can:

* **Download** it (for 3D, **Download model**).
* **Save to project…** if you didn't choose one before.
* Add an image to your **Elements**.
* Under **More actions**: **Use these settings** to run again with the same options, or **Use as input** to feed the result into the next run.

To work on it with the agent instead, click **Use in chat**. Voyager starts a chat that uses this model. The **Details** tab says what the model is good at, what it takes and who can run it.

## Check the result

Saved results are in the project's files, like anything the agent makes. A run that isn't in a project says **Not in a project** and the date it will be deleted.

## Common problems

> [accordion] “Connect … to run …”
>
> No provider you've set up can run this model. Click the setup button, or connect one in **Apps & Models → Providers**. See [Choose your generation providers](https://docs.voyager.so/account/generation-providers.md).

> [accordion] Run says Add credits
>
> You don't have enough Voyager credits for this run. Add credits, choose a cheaper model, or connect your own provider.

> [accordion] “We don't have pricing information for this run”
>
> Voyager can't estimate this run's cost. It may still cost you. Click **Run anyway** only if you're happy with that.

> [accordion] A chat model has no playground
>
> The playground runs image, video, voice, music, sound effect and 3D models. Chat models show **Chat** instead of **Try**.
