# Use Voyager from ChatGPT, Claude or Codex

> Connect Voyager to the AI chat you already use and ask it for videos, images, voiceover, music, sound effects and 3D models, paid for with your Voyager credits.

You can add Voyager to ChatGPT, Claude or Codex. Then, in the chat you already use, you can ask for a video clip, a poster, a voiceover or a 3D model, and Voyager makes it. The result comes back into your chat, ready to play or download.

For example, in ChatGPT you could type: *@Voyager design a gig poster for Friday, tangerine on navy.*

## Who it's for

It's for people who already work in ChatGPT, Claude or Codex and want to make media there without switching apps. You don't need the Voyager desktop app, and you don't need to be a developer. You connect once, sign in with your Voyager account, and that's it. There are no keys to copy.

## Set it up

> [card] [ChatGPT](https://docs.voyager.so/connect/chatgpt.md)
>
> Add Voyager from its ChatGPT listing.

> [card] [Claude](https://docs.voyager.so/connect/claude.md)
>
> Add a custom connector, or one command in Claude Code.

> [card] [Codex](https://docs.voyager.so/connect/codex.md)
>
> Two commands in your terminal.

The **MCP** tab at [voyager.so/dashboard/mcp](https://voyager.so/dashboard/mcp) has the same steps with copy buttons.

## What it can make

* **Images**, from a prompt or by editing an image you give it.
* **Short videos**, from a prompt or from a photo.
* **Speech**, in a premade voice or your own voice clone if your plan includes voice cloning.
* **Music** and **sound effects**.
* **3D models** you can download, such as GLB files.

It can also read your workspace's **brand kits** (colors, fonts and logos), use images you share as **references**, and keep recurring characters, places and props as **Cast** so they look the same from shot to shot. See [What Voyager can do in your chat](https://docs.voyager.so/connect/tools.md) for the full list.

If you don't name a model, Voyager picks a good default for each kind of media and tells you which it used. If you name one, it uses exactly that model, and asks you if it isn't available rather than switching.

## Plans and credits

Generating uses Voyager credits from the workspace you choose when you sign in. The connection doesn't come with its own credits, and chatting in ChatGPT, Claude or Codex doesn't use Voyager credits.

* **Video and 3D need a paid Voyager plan.** Voyager Free includes some image and voice models.
* **Ask what it will cost.** Voyager can give an estimate before it starts. An estimate isn't the final charge.
* **Cancelling is best effort.** Work that already finished can still be charged.
* If your plan or credits don't cover a request, Voyager tells you in one sentence and links to your plan and credit details. You can't buy credits or upgrade from inside the chat. Do that at [voyager.so/dashboard/billing](https://voyager.so/dashboard/billing).

See [Plans and credits](https://docs.voyager.so/account/plans-and-credits.md) and [Voyager pricing](https://voyager.so/pricing).

## How it differs from the desktop app

| | In ChatGPT, Claude or Codex | Voyager desktop app |
| - | - | - |
| **What runs it** | Your AI chat, with Voyager as a connected tool | Voyager's own agent |
| **What it makes** | Single images, short clips, audio and 3D models | Whole finished videos, edits and motion graphics |
| **Your computer** | No access to your files, folders or creative apps | Works in your creative apps and project folders |
| **Cast** | Its own Cast, kept in your workspace | Cast kept in each desktop project |

Cast you make through the connection and Cast in your desktop projects are separate. They don't sync.

Want to build Voyager into your own code instead? See the [Voyager API](https://docs.voyager.so/api/overview.md).

## Your files and how long they're kept

* **References** you share are kept for 7 days, unless you save them into a Cast card.
* **Results** stay available to download for 30 days.
* **Cast** you save stays until you delete it.
* Preview and download links expire after a few minutes. Ask Voyager for the result again to get a fresh link.

You can ask Voyager to delete a reference, a result or a Cast card at any time. See [Privacy](https://docs.voyager.so/help/privacy.md) and the [Voyager privacy policy](https://voyager.so/privacy#remote-plugin).

## Disconnect an app

**1. Open Connected apps**

Go to **Settings → Connected apps** at [voyager.so/dashboard/connected-apps](https://voyager.so/dashboard/connected-apps).

**2. Revoke the connection**

Find the app and its workspace, choose **Revoke**, then **Revoke access**.

Do this even if you already removed Voyager in ChatGPT, Claude or Codex. Removing it there may leave its access to your Voyager account active. Revoking stops new requests. Work already accepted may still finish, and your saved Cast and downloaded files are kept.
