# Add Voyager to Claude

> Add Voyager as a custom connector in Claude on the web or desktop, or with one command in Claude Code, and make videos, images and audio from your chats.

When you finish, you can ask Claude for a video clip, an image, a voiceover, music or a 3D model, and Voyager makes it.

Voyager isn't in Claude's connector directory yet, so you add it yourself. It takes four steps in Claude, or one command in Claude Code.

> [!NOTE]
>
> **Before you start**
>
> * **Claude** on the web, the Claude desktop app, or Claude Code.
> * **A Voyager account.** If you don't have one, you can sign up during the steps below.
> * **Cost:** adding Voyager is free. What you make uses Voyager credits from your workspace; video and 3D need a paid Voyager plan. See [Plans and credits](https://docs.voyager.so/connect/overview.md#plans-and-credits).
> * This page is about using Voyager inside Claude. To run the Voyager desktop app on your Claude plan instead, see [Connect Claude](https://docs.voyager.so/setup/connect-claude.md).

> [tab] Claude on the web or desktop
>
> **1. Open Connectors**
>
> In Claude, open [**Settings → Connectors**](https://claude.ai/settings/connectors).
>
> **2. Add a custom connector**
>
> Choose **Add custom connector**, name it **Voyager** and paste this URL:
>
> ```text theme={"system"}
> ```
>
> **3. Connect and sign in**
>
> Click **Connect**. On the Voyager page that opens, check the app it names and choose **Continue**, then sign in with your Voyager account. If you belong to more than one workspace, choose the one whose plan and credits this connection should use.
>
> **4. Turn it on in a chat**
>
> In a new chat, open **+ → Connectors** and turn on **Voyager**.

> [tab] Claude Code
>
> **1. Add Voyager**
>
> In your terminal, run:
>
> ```sh theme={"system"}
> claude mcp add --transport http voyager-cloud https://mcp.voyager.so/mcp
> ```
>
> **2. Sign in**
>
> Start Claude Code, type `/mcp`, choose **voyager-cloud** and sign in. Finish signing in with your Voyager account in the browser window that opens, and choose a workspace if asked.
>
> In Claude Code, Voyager can also use a file on your computer as a reference. Name the file in your request, for example *use ./photo.jpg as the start frame*.

## Check it worked

Ask: *What's my Voyager plan and how many credits do I have?* Claude uses Voyager to answer with your workspace, plan and credit balance.

Then try something small: *Use Voyager to design a gig poster for Friday, tangerine on navy.* The image comes back with the model's name and the credits it used.

## If something went wrong

> [accordion] I don't see Add custom connector
>
> Your Claude plan or organization may not allow custom connectors. If you use Claude through your company, ask your Claude admin. Claude Code works without this setting.

> [accordion] Claude doesn't use Voyager
>
> Check that **Voyager** is turned on under **+ → Connectors** in this chat, then mention Voyager in your request. In Claude Code, run `/mcp` and check that **voyager-cloud** is connected.

> [accordion] You need a seat in this workspace
>
> The workspace you chose has a Voyager plan, but no seat for you. Ask one of its admins to add you, then connect again. Or connect again and choose your personal workspace.

> [accordion] Voyager says a request needs a paid plan or more credits
>
> Your workspace's plan or credits don't cover it. Owners and admins can upgrade or add credits at [voyager.so/dashboard/billing](https://voyager.so/dashboard/billing). Then ask again.
