# Add Voyager to ChatGPT

> Add Voyager to ChatGPT from its listing, sign in with your Voyager account, and ask @Voyager for videos, images and audio in any chat.

When you finish, you can type **@Voyager** in a ChatGPT chat and ask for a video clip, an image, a voiceover, music or a 3D model.

> [!NOTE]
>
> **Before you start**
>
> * **A ChatGPT account** on the web, at [chatgpt.com](https://chatgpt.com).
> * **A Voyager account.** If you don't have one, you can sign up during the steps below.
> * **Cost:** adding Voyager is free. What you make uses Voyager credits from your workspace; video and 3D need a paid Voyager plan. See [Plans and credits](https://docs.voyager.so/connect/overview.md#plans-and-credits).
> * This page is about using Voyager inside ChatGPT. To run the Voyager desktop app on your ChatGPT plan instead, see [Connect ChatGPT](https://docs.voyager.so/setup/connect-chatgpt.md).

## Add Voyager

**1. Open the Voyager listing**

Open [Voyager in ChatGPT](https://chatgpt.com/plugins/plugin_asdk_app_6ae3982d27b4819184ac134a3c1d1307), or choose **Add to ChatGPT** on the **MCP** tab of your [Voyager dashboard](https://voyager.so/dashboard/mcp). Add it to your ChatGPT account.

**2. Allow the connection**

A Voyager page opens and names the app asking to connect. Check it, then choose **Continue**.

**3. Sign in and choose a workspace**

Sign in with your Voyager account, or sign up. If you belong to more than one workspace, choose the one whose plan and credits this connection should use. The connection stays with that workspace.

**4. Use it in a chat**

Start a new chat in ChatGPT, type **@Voyager** and pick it, then ask for what you want.

## Check it worked

Ask: *@Voyager what's my Voyager plan and how many credits do I have?* Voyager answers with your workspace, plan and credit balance.

Then try something small: *@Voyager design a gig poster for Friday, tangerine on navy.* The image appears in the chat with the model's name and the credits it used.

## Set it up by hand instead

If you can't use the listing, you can add Voyager as a custom server. Your ChatGPT workspace must allow custom connections.

**1. Add a custom server**

In ChatGPT on the web, open **Plugins**, choose **+**, then **Add custom MCP server**.

**2. Enter Voyager's address**

Name it **Voyager**, paste this URL and choose **OAuth**:

```text theme={"system"}
https://mcp.voyager.so/mcp
```

**3. Sign in**

Sign in with your Voyager account, then pick **@Voyager** in a new chat.

## If something went wrong

> [accordion] I can't add Voyager or a custom server
>
> If your ChatGPT account belongs to a company workspace, an admin may control which apps and custom connections are allowed. Ask them to allow Voyager.

> [accordion] You need a seat in this workspace
>
> The workspace you chose has a Voyager plan, but no seat for you. Ask one of its admins to add you, then connect again. Or connect again and choose your personal workspace.

> [accordion] Voyager says a request needs a paid plan or more credits
>
> Your workspace's plan or credits don't cover it. Voyager links to your plan and credit details. Owners and admins can upgrade or add credits at [voyager.so/dashboard/billing](https://voyager.so/dashboard/billing). Then ask again.

> [accordion] I want to use a different workspace
>
> A connection stays with the workspace you chose. Revoke it in **Settings → Connected apps** on your dashboard, then add Voyager again and choose the other workspace.
